TOTO MS604114CEFG – 01 Ultramax II Toilet Review – Great Value with SanaGloss Coating
For most of us, going to the bathroom is an experience that we take for granted. However, just because it’s nothing special doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t enjoy it.
Too often, we are saddled with a toilet that does not cater to our needs. In some cases, the bowl may be too small for our frame, or the flushing system may not have the power that we need to get the job done efficiently.
If that is the case, why settle for a bathroom experience that is less than sublime? We spend a lot of time in there, so shouldn’t we try to make it better if possible? If you agree, then you might want to check out the TOTO Ultramax II Toilet.
When it comes to efficiency, size, and cleanliness, this unit is second to none. If you’re not happy with your toilet, why not upgrade? Here is what the Ultramax II has to offer you.
Table of Contents
One of the worst things about using a toilet is keeping it clean. For many of us, the idea of scrubbing the bowl is worse than anything, which creates a vicious cycle.
One the one hand, if we kept it clean regularly, then it won’t be an off-putting experience. However, if you’re turned off by the idea already, then you will wait longer to clean it, which will only make things worse.
Thankfully, the Ultramax II makes this dilemma much easier to handle. The entire unit is covered with SanaGloss, which is baked into the ceramic itself. This coating helps to eliminate waste residue by making it easier to clean.
Now you don’t have to worry about anything sticking to the sides, as the SanaGloss makes everything so much neater. That also means that when it comes time to clean, even if you wait longer than you should, it won’t be so bad that you will avoid doing it next time.
When most people hear of “low-flow” they assume the worst. While the Ultramax II is technically a low-flow toilet, it does not have the problems that most of these units do.
While it uses less water overall (1.6 gallons per flush), the Ultramax II has cyclonic suction technology built in so you have a better flushing experience. Clogs are much harder to come by with this toilet, which makes it much better than the competition.
One of the biggest problems that I have with toilets is that the bowl is too small for me. Thankfully, TOTO has me covered with an elongated bowl that gives me extra room, so I don’t have to situate myself just right on the seat.
For many people, having a few extra inches can make all the difference, which is why I prefer the Ultramax II.
SoftClose Seat Included
For some toilets, you get the bowl and nothing else. While some people like to shop for seats, I want everything to come all at once so that I don’t have to do any extra work. Fortunately, the Ultramax II comes with a SoftClose Seat, which is one of the best you can find with regards to comfort and convenience.
The padding is thick and soft, and it is a pleasure to sit on, even if things take a bit longer than usual. Even if I wanted to shop for a toilet seat, I would still choose this one.

Q: Do you need special cleaner so you don’t rub the gloss off?
A: The glaze is baked into the ceramic, so you should be fine with most cleaners and disinfectants. Don’t use anything too coarse or rough, though.
Q: What is the material of the bowl?
A: According to the manufacturer, it is Vitreous China.
Q: How easy is the installation process?
A: Much simpler than some models. Just be sure that you have enough space in front for the longer bowl. It uses two bolts to lock down, so it’s very straightforward.
For a long time, I was wary of any toilet that was classified as low flow. Fortunately, the Ultramax II has broken me of that way of thinking, and now I can embrace using less water per flush.
Overall, I love this toilet because it is so easy to clean, it’s big enough for me, and it flushes like a dream. I highly recommend it to anyone.
